Call for Papers: Volume 1, Number 1, April 2026
We invite academics, researchers, and professionals to publish with J-NPC: Journal of Natural Products and Chemometrics for the upcoming general issue (Volume 1, Number 1, April 2026).
Topics covered include, but not limited to:
- Extract Exploration
Articles related to the exploration of the biological potential of natural extracts, the development and optimization of extraction methods, and the application of chemometric approaches for chemical pattern analysis, extraction process optimization, and the characterization of compound profiles within extracts.
- Compound Isolation and Elucidation
Articles discussing the isolation, structural elucidation, and biological activity analysis of natural products using spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques, including the integration of chemometric analysis for spectral data interpretation and compound identification.
- Biological Activity
Evaluation of the pharmacological and physiological activities of natural compounds or extracts through in silico, in vitro, and in vivo approaches, including chemometric modeling and multivariate statistical analysis to understand the relationships between chemical structures and biological activities.
- Chemical Ecology
Studies on the chemical interactions between organisms within ecosystems, including the identification and analysis of chemical compounds involved in defense mechanisms or interspecies communication, as well as the application of chemometric analysis to understand variation patterns of compounds within ecological systems.
- Chemical Synthesis and Natural Product Modification
Development of synthetic methods or structural modifications of natural compounds to enhance biological activities or other properties, including data-driven molecular design approaches and chemometric analysis to predict structure–activity relationships.
- Natural Product Metabolomics
Studies on metabolite profiling in natural resources using metabolomics approaches, including the integration of spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques, as well as chemometric analysis (e.g., PCA, PLS, classification, and multivariate modeling) for the interpretation of complex metabolite data.
- Sustainability and Natural Resource Conservation
Research on sustainable extraction practices, the responsible utilization of natural resources, and the evaluation of ecological impacts resulting from natural product exploitation, including the use of data analysis and chemometric approaches for monitoring resource quality and sustainability.
- Chemometrics in Natural Product Research
Development and application of chemometric methods for chemical data analysis in natural product research, including the processing of spectroscopic and chromatographic data, sample classification, natural product authentication, predictive modeling, and the integration of modern analytical techniques with machine learning.
- Computational Chemistry and Molecular Modeling
Application of computational chemistry approaches in natural product research, including molecular docking, molecular dynamics, quantum chemical calculations, QSAR/QSPR, and molecular interaction simulations to predict biological activity, compound stability, and structure–activity relationships.
- Review Articles and Short Communications
Review articles discussing current developments in the fields of natural products and chemometrics, as well as short communications reporting significant new scientific findings.
